We purchased and LOVED the pasta roller that makes sheets and basic long pastas. My daughter's favorite however is rigatoni, so we decided to take the plunge and get this attachment as well. Fun! Very happy with our purchase. Even works with gluten free dough. Make sure your dough isn't too wet or it will stick inside the chute, but otherwise this is an A+ in our book.

I just bought this and could hardly sleep last night because I couldn't wait to use the Gourmet Pasta Press. I love cooking and this was very easy to use and a lot of fun. It always makes me feel good to make something from scratch. Just a little trouble cleaning the plates that the pasta goes through. I used the brush picks that you use between your teeth and it worked GREAT!!

I got the Kitchenaid pasta rollers for Christmas last year, which has been great, but I use pasta like macaroni in my cooking often, so I saved up to add this to my kitchen repertoire. I have only been able to use it once so far, and I didn't have enough semolina flour to match the pasta recipe, but regardless the whole process was a lot quicker than with the rollers, and plenty of macaroni from one batch for multiple recipes. I look forward to trying the other pasta cutters, especially the spaghetti, as the rough texture on the macaroni did a great job of keeping sauce on it, unlike the smooth pastas sold commercially. Cleanup was a little messy, but I'm hoping that's because the dough didn't have enough semolina flour in it.

The pasta ring, (part that holds the past plate in place) snapped in half during normal use. The plastic construction is not very durable. The product lasted 2 months from purchase, used maybe 6 times.

we used the attachment with success one time and the results were fantastic ! the second time we used it (same recipe) the internal plastic thing that rotates the dough broke. so sad !! we threw the receipt away so Kohl's won't return it. thinking we just got a bad one ?? hoping KitchenAid can help.

Unit looks and operates fine but end result of produced product less then desired.
Have been making fresh pasta for years with kitchenaid attachment rollers with no issues and excellent product produced
After trying dozens of varied recipes for press with various flours we gave up and returned unit
For now we will stick with Kitchenaid roller attachments for our fresh pasta with hopes they come out with additional roller attatchments.
We are pasta lovers and the roller attatchments have offered to expand our food recipes but the press was disappointing and just did not deliver as advertised

First of all...disregard pasta dough recipe (too dry). After overhauling dough, I made rigatoni. The result was perfect. Clean-up is fairly time consuming. Overall, a great attachment.

I have had this machine for a few years and used it for the first time with great success! Used the kitchen aid recipe to make the spaghetti thought it was dry and added olive oil to make it work. For the rigatoni's I used my own recipe and it was perfect!

I owned another brand extruder and decided to downsize by getting this attachment instead for my mixer. What a mistake! No replacement parts and what a mess! I am going back to my other extruder. Poor customer service. I expected more from KA.

1: If your pasta is "glopping/sticking" during / after extruding, You are using too much water. Play with your recipe.. Water and flour(semolina) or Water and Egg(AP)
2: Yes, the disk are a "REAL PITA" to clean.. Clean them ASAP, or let them sit in boiling water. I nuke a coffee cup with water to do this.. Add disks after you nuke, not during. And, I think they might separate.. My spaghetti on does..

I bought this a year ago and we have had so much fun creating our own pasta! From a special fresh spaghetti dinner on NewYears to gluten free Rigatoni for our Gluten free friends- it is easy to make- only takes a few ingredients and we are eating fresh, perfectly cooked pasta! Great unit. Easy to use. Make sure dough rests after mixing and is a little on the dry side so it does not stick when being augered through the die. Very happy. The GKids love to help make and of course eat the pasta!

I absolutely love my new pasta maker. It is easy to use and makes perfect pasta in a fraction of the time. The only issue may be that a fair amount of dough tends to remain in the unit making the task of taking it apart for cleaning a bit challenging. I also wish there were more disks available so I could make even more different shaped pasta. Overall, I would recommend this product, especially to beginners, but also to anyone who enjoys eating fresh pasta.

Have enjoyed using the press! My GKids enjoy it too! Make sure the dough is a little on the dry side so it does not stick or separate when the auger begins to move it to the press plate. After that let the machine do the work. I hang the long noodles to dry for a few minutes after I cut them and let the small noodles and macaroni drop into a lightly floured bowl as I cut them. Super Easy. Clean up is easy too. One hint: I use dental floss to clean the openings on the Fusilli Plate. Enjoy!

Have used my new pasta maker a few times since Christmas and am loving it. The first couple of times were trial and error trying to get used to it but now I am whizzing through. You cannot be in a hurry to make your pasta but it is well worth the effort.

I love making fresh homemade pasta and this little gem gives me all I need! Fast, easy, and I can press the pasta as I'm ,making the sauce and boiling the water!
Cleaning is a bit tedious but by using a bamboo skewer I've managed to perfect it, getting it clean by time rest of dinner made.

Just tried my new pasta attachment for the first time this morning and I am thrilled! I was a bit anxious after reading some of the negative comments but i loved it it worked really well and was much easier to use than I thought. I made some delicious rotini and I can't wait to use it again! It is a bit long to clean especially since I had tried a few different shape. You only have to make sure your dough isn't too sticky so you can't just stick to the recipe, you have to go with the feel of the dough.

I love KitchenAid products, but the pasta press is a huge miss. I've had great success making pasta dozens of times with the KitchenAid rollers, and fettuccine/spaghetti cutters, but the extrusion system is an absolute mess. I don't what else to say, but it's just a frustrating product. If you manage to get it to work, the pasta looks terrible. Nothing you'd want to serve to anyone. And for how difficult the product is to setup, use, clean, etc. it's a huge disappointment when you realize the time you've wasted. Stay away!

First of all, the recipe is wrong. Secondly there is only one recipe. There should be more; gluten free, spinach, garlic herb, etc. It IS hard to clean but that is expected with any pasta maker. Lastly, I can't that they offer any other plates/disks to purchase for variety. What we really wanted were the really thick rounded noodles we find in many Italian restaurants. The thick plate included makes noodles that are hollow. Not what we wanted. What we DO like is the storage case, the cutter, and the directions to form balls out of the dough to feed the machine (that really helped).

It was actually fun making the pasta. The different variety of pasta attachments worked well. The only thing disappointing was cleaning. You need some patience, but doable. Would definitely recomend.

I just wasted 4 large eggs and 3.5 cups of flour and my time. Very frustrating. It is WAY too dense. It would not extrude. Most recipes call for 3-4 eggs and 2 cups of flour. This is almost twice as much flour. I thought maybe the extruder needed firmer dough and tried the recipe. All I can say is it is just INCORRECT. I will try a different recipe and see if I can make it work.

I got the Gourmet Pasta Press as a Christmas gift, I already own the (3) piece one, which I love using for fettucini, & flat sheets of pasta & angel hair pasta, but I wanted the gourmet one especially for the fusilli & rigatoni,, the fusilli doesn't come out like pictured comes out in straight pieces, as for the rigatoni, it's to thick. For such an expensive product, and to be disappointed in the performance.

Got this for Christmas this year and I'm pretty happy with it, we have used it about 5 times so far. I was using pasta flour from Bob's Red Mill - don't do that, follow the Kitchenaid recipe. The Bob's recipe made the dough too watery.
It's fun to use it with my boyfriend,but it can totally be done by yourself as long as you make the walnut sized dough balls first. The pasta is tasty and it's well worth the time it takes (as compared to just popping store bought pasta in boiling water).

I bought this attachment a few years ago and never had an opportunity to use it until last year.
I followed the Basic Egg Noodle recipe and discovered an error. 31/2 Cups sifted flour do not weigh 830 grams. They weigh 490 grams.
Despite multiple calls to KitchenAid I was unable to get any satisfaction regarding the recipe.
I finally made the recipe based on the correct weight and have had good success. I would like it if they had additional plates. My husband prefers angel hair pasta, that I make with my hand crank machine.
As far as good value, really...no. It's more a high priced toy for adults. The hand crank is much more cost effective and just as much fun.

I have had the Pasta Press for 4+ years now and I love it! The primary purpose that I purchased my Kitchenaid Stand Mixer after my daughter enjoyed fresh homemade pasta at a friend's house, she raved about it, could not stop talking about it. I had contemplated purchasing a Kitchenaid mixer, my mother got hers in the 70's, made coleslaw with it nearly every night. It wasn't until I wanted to make homemade pasta that I actually purchased one. I also have the pasta rollers and ravioli maker but my favorite is the Pasta Press. It's easy to use, it took me a few tries to get the consistency just right with the pasta dough but I enjoy having fresh homemade pasta, I kept with it and I love it! Love how easy it is to use. It gives me options for the types of pasta I can enjoy.

I never considered looking at a kitchen gadget based on the availability of replacement parts. I purchased this Pasta Press about a year ago, and the day I bought it I washed it and left the pieces out to dry. I came back a couple hours later to find a curious cat must have knocked the Rigatoni plate off the counter and into the jaws of my dog ... who immediately thought it a chew toy. As fate would have it, Rigatoni is the ONLY dang reason I bought this gadget, but the plate was "out of stock" at the time. I just checked back and all the replacement parts for this press are STILL "out of stock" ... but the Rigatoni plate is "No Longer Available". Needless to say, the press and all the surviving plates just went into the Goodwill box as it's useless to me now. I will opt to just by the pasta from the store. Can get a lot of Rigatoni for the cost of this gadget.

Gave it a four giving it room to grow to five. Like the plastic case on top to keep all the discs in one place. Working the dough to the right consistency is the trick to make great pasta. Don't give up.

I had used this for about 6 months without any trouble, it worked flawlessly. Then after 6 months, the unit start make a squeaking sound. I'm guessing that the internal gears need food safe grease but I'm hesitant to open up the unit to see what is inside.

I received my pasta press today, total waste of money.
I have made pasta many times. The fusilli pasta did not curl. The rigatoni was very thick when it came through. When cooked it was even thicker. Very disappointed with this and it came with a very high price.
The only good thing was I had fun with my grandchildren.
Don't bother with this product.

It's so fun and easy to make pasta! I love my new pasta press - very easy to use and makes good pasta. There are six different kinds to choose from, which is also a great perk. Attachments are a bit of a pain to clean, but not a huge deal if you let the pasta dry first, like the instructions say to do.

I purchased this a 1-1/2 years ago. Have tried it a couple of times and not really happy with it. I tried it with several varieties of pasta. Can't seem to get the tubes to stay hollow. It would on one end by not the other. I tried changing the speed, changing the doughs, adding more flour and still not satisfactory. I tried the fusilli shape. I only had 3 that came out with the amazing twist I desired. This was waaaay to much effort for less that satisfactory results. Then the clean up. Yuck. What a mess. I need to go and purchase another box of toothpicks. I wanted this to work so badly...
